The SVRA Provisional Schedule has us as Group 6 - Historic Stock Cars.  We run Friday practice with the Pro Trans Am Group.  On Saturday our practice is at 11:00 AM, Qualifying at 4:10 pm.  Sunday qualifying Race is at 11:40 AM and the final Trophy Race is at 4:50 PM.

We will have our traditional Taco Party with all the fixin's, beer, margaritas and wine on Saturday night.  A reminder to RSVP for a head count will be sent out later.  We hope to see everyone and enjoy some great racing at a great venue.

May 18th -20th Laguna Seca Raceway Spri

The second event is the Laguna Seca Spring Classic at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, Ca. May 18-20, 2018.  This is the second year of an iconic race at a beautiful and world renown  race track.  The racetrack is 2.238 miles long, with a 180 foot elevation change.  It's eleven turns are highlighted by the circuit's signature turn, the downhill-plunging "Corkscrew" at turns 8 and 8A.

This race will grow in size and prestige to rival the Monterey Reunion.  We encourage everyone to enter this race ASAP as the cut-off date is March 31st.  In order to have our cars run at this event we need to have 20 cars entered.  We appeal to everyone to enter this race and keep our NASCAR Historic Stock Cars on the track racing at the level of prestige they deserve.

The track has many exciting things going on in addition to the races this year including a Cackle Fest with some old time big name drag racers.  Should be a fun addition to the weekend. Nitro RevivalOn Saturday, Nitro Revival brings the sights and sounds of the early days of front-engine Top Fuel dragsters and other organized hot rod racing back to life with a large lineup of fully restored machines. It serves as a reunion for racers from that era and gives fans the experience of a drag racing museum come to life. The Saturday event will close with a “Line of Fire” mass fire-up that will have the cackling sounds of vintage drag cars echoing through the rolling hills of the Monterey Peninsula. For more information, visit NitroRevival

Space is limited and you need to go to the Laguna Seca website and register soon to make sure your entry will be accepted. Entry applications may be found at SpringClassic.org.

November 9-11th Lucas Oil Big Bore Bash with VARA at Willow Springs in Redmond, CA.

This is such a fast and fun historic 2.5 mile long road course that is unchanged from it's 1953 configuration.  It is a challenging and fun track for our cars especially the long fast sweeping turns 8 and 9.   Weather in November at Willow Springs can be the most beautiful time of year with warm temperatures.   For those of you that your wife does not like Willow Springs the towns of Palmdale and Lancaster are loaded with lots of name brand stores for shopping and dining

Hope to see everyone at Auto Club Speedway in April.
